A real estate resource for its members and the community.

Mission Statement: A real estate resource for its members and the community.

Organized in 1970, a small group of strong headed business oriented individuals decided to break away from the Honolulu Board of REALTORS and form the Kauai Board of REALTORS®. Chartered by the National Association of REALTORS® in 1974, the organization now represents a little over 500 REALTOR® members and 25 affiliate members.

The Kauai Board of REALTORS® is a nonprofit corporation that provides community resource information yet relies totally on membership dues as the main source of income.

The Kauai Board of REALTORS® does not issue real estate licenses or provide pre-licensing courses. We do provide continuing educational courses for real estate agents public informational training sessions for First Time Homebuyers as well as Property Management, particularly Landlord/Tenant.

As the largest trade organizations, the REALTORS® have the ability to speak on behalf of the entire real estate industry on issues that impact private property rights…including the State General Excise Tax; Important Ag Lands; Transient Vacation Rentals; Mortgage Interest Deductions; Flood Insurance; Use Permits; Updating the CZO; and more. We encourage you to visit our “Resource” page as well as the National Association of REALTORS homepage for information on home ownership, buying or selling your home, and more.

Our business partnerships include the Kauai Chamber of Commerce; the Kauai Business Council; and the Kauai Planning Action & Alliance Association.

Our annual giving projects, assisting our children in community with the “KBR School Supply Drive started in 1999”. Annual purchases funded 100% by REALTORS® are provided to the 6 public middle and high school Parent Community Network Coordinators for distribution to students. The second program funded by REALTORS® is part of an annual FUN fundraising event, for the Scholarship Fund. Started in 2002, we have issued scholarships to over 80 students.

Other community outreach programs that REALTORS® volunteer and assist with include the Salvation Army Kokua Kitchen; the Child & Family Services; and the Kauai Independent Food Bank.

The Kauai Board of REALTORS has the ability to sanction (educational & financial) a member for not abiding to the strict Code of Ethics. The ability to suspend or terminate a license is solely done by the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs.

We are a part of your community.
